Tally Tells

Why we make these books

We like the old stories. We also think a four-year-old should get to be the one the three bears find upstairs. So we put the two together and print it as a real book.

The stories you already know, with your child in them

Three bowls of porridge on a cottage table. A gingerbread child who won’t wait to cool. These tales have been read at bedtime for a very long time, and they still work. We retell them in our own words, short enough to finish before anyone falls asleep, and we draw your child as the one who saves the day.

We started because of a complaint we kept hearing about personalized books. The child on page one looks like your kid, and by page six it’s somebody else. Or the book that arrives isn’t quite the one you saw on screen. So here you approve your child’s drawing first, we make every page from it, and we print exactly the pages you approved.

Where AI comes in, and where it doesn’t

How a book gets made

Our stories are retold from the old public-domain tales. AI helps with the first draft, and a person edits every line. AI also draws your child into the pictures from the photo you send. The rest of each picture is drawn with AI help. Then we look at every page before you see the finished book.

Only the service providers who make your book see the photo, and it’s never sold. We don’t use your photo to train AI. It’s deleted within 72 hours of upload, or sooner when you approve the drawing. Only a parent or guardian can upload it, and only after signing the consent. We’d rather tell you all this plainly than have you wonder.

Who we are

We’re a small team, and we’ll put our names and faces here soon. Until then, write to us and a person reads it and answers, within one business day.
