What happens to your child’s photo
The life of one photo
72 hours, then it’s gone.
- 1
You upload it
It travels over an encrypted connection and is stored privately.
- 2
We draw from it
We check it, then use it to draw your child’s character for this one book. Nothing else. Only the service providers who make your book see the photo, and it’s never sold.
- 3
You come back to the preview
We keep the drawing and the preview for 30 days so you can return to them. Not the photo.
- 4
We print
Only the finished pages go to our print partner. The photo doesn’t.
- 5
We delete it
The original photo is erased within 72 hours of upload, or sooner when you approve the drawing.
Things we never do
- Use your photos to train AI.
- Sell or share photos with advertisers.
- Keep a face template (a “face print”) of your child.
- Show your child’s book in our marketing without asking you first.
Things you can do any time
- Delete everything, before or after ordering: the photo, the drawing of your child, the preview and the book files.
- Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Write to a person at hello@tallytells.com.
Every preview email has a one-click “delete everything” link, and so does the preview page.
About AI, and who can upload
Our stories are retold from the old public-domain tales. AI helps with the first draft, and a person edits every line. We use AI to draw your child into the illustrations from your photo, and we check every book before it’s printed. Only a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older may upload a child’s photo. Tally Tells is made for parents and gift-givers, not for children to use directly.
