A book for the night before the first day of school
New classroom, new teacher, a new peg for their coat. It helps to have read, a few nights in a row, about yourself walking into somewhere new and getting home fine.
Why it works for first day of school
- Something to talk about at bedtime
- In Goldilocks, your child knocks first, waits, and says sorry when things go wrong. That's a decent conversation to have before a first day.
- Plan the timing
- Allow about 11–19 days from order to door. You’ll see an arrive-by estimate before you pay.

Questions people ask
Which story is best for kindergarten?
All our stories are written for ages 4 to 6. Many US kindergartens read the Gingerbread Man in December and the Three Little Pigs during the year, so those may feel familiar.
Can I write a note from us inside?
Yes. Your dedication is printed at the front of the book.
